Im Jacob, Double Jay, Jake whatever names you can think of. Ive been making music for about a year now, its only recently I found my own style and started properly. I dont take this too serious its more of a pass time and I suppose it helps to vent myself. I am sixteen years of age and live in the North West of England (I know what a bad place for rappers to come from). Its all gravy though as hopefully im good enough to break though the barrier so to speak. Thats all you need to know anyway I suppose listening to me is a good way to find out more So get my plays up!!
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I used to be Frenzy. I realized I was just rhyming words on a track. No real meaning, story or message. So I quit got better with my music then changed my name for a fresh start. So I changed it to double jay and cover more topical issues. Yeah I still have a fuck about track now and then but other from that its all gravy.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Do I play live? Does rapping on a public bus count... Ive done that, and on street corners. But seriously Im hoping to get some shows in with rock band H-Eyes hopefully something will come up soon Or so I keep telling myself.
Your musical influences
If youd have asked me this last year I would have gave you a big list of rappers same as anyone on here. Now I try not to listen to rap because every rap song is a rap song and has been done so how will it influence me. I like Oasis a lot I think they are possibly the best band in the world. I also like papa roach. I mean overall ill listen to anything which has a real meaning, not just a list of bull shit people claimed to do, how they caused pain to who, then chat bull shit like there the same as you.. so what im trying to say is I dont give you what I want to hear, you are given what I want to say.
What equipment do you use?
Equipment Ha! Thats a laugh, im sixteen what do you expect me to use. I bought a 20 microphone some 5 head phones and adobe audition! Its far from 50 cent!
