Donnie Priest
I'm a good ole boy from Georgia. In the early 70's I started a cover band, The Re-Creation. We played local gigs for several years. We all started having families and other jobs paid a lot more, so we gave up on music. I've dabbled in song writing over the years. I've been a Christian for a long time but, and as I've gotten older, I feel I have a calling from God to write Christian music. There are enough of my old lady done left with my dog songs. I'm sharing the good news of Jesus and His plan for salvation to an increasingly damaged world. My hash tag is #JesusLovesYou The love of Jesus comes before everything else.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Born and raised in Georgia, I love living in the South. Grew up in a christian home, tried going on my own and realized a life without God is a dead end road.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I was in a rock band in the '70s, The Re-Creation, we played local gigs in north Georgia.
Your musical influences
I was a big fan of the Beatles in the '60s. Eagles in the '70s and '80s and even now. Jim Croce, Dan Fogelerg, and Harry Chapin. They influenced my song writing.
Anything else?
God is good and Jesus loves you
