Dolores Dagenais (nova scotia)
Dolores is currently working on material for her fifth album as well as acting as promoter for a major international music project the Artistic Freedom Collectives 2010 Gathering which will bring musicians and music lovers from all over the world to her adopted town of Pictou, Nova Scotia.
Dolores writing is nothing if not personal her songs are about all aspects of life, from great triumph to profound regret written in a personal pull no punches style that somehow still manages to remain universal. Because of the clarity of the work and Dolores' "easy to listen to" vocal arrangements, her albums are currently being used in parts of China to assist students as they learn the English language and shes garnered a number of fans in the far east due to this.
Dolores live performances are engaging her warmth and humour draw the audience in and the power of her vocals keeps them coming back for more. The true power of her vocals can only be experienced in a live venue, as she invites the listener to make an emotional connection to the music without the distraction of lavish over-productions.
