Doctor Slickshill is, among many other things, a purveyor of electronic sounds, an analog musician at heart in a fully digital world. Specializing in gauzy, dreamlike meditations backed by jungle tempos and rough noises, Doctor Slickshill treads in old territories with modern techniques, and the result is additive syncopations that harken back to the old school of electronic music... where he originally is from.
Band/artist history
Doctor Slickshill is the latest musical incarnation of electronic musician and artist Mike Melillo, who has previously recorded as himself, as well as Tube Stasis and Shiru. He has independently produced electronic music since the mid 80's, and was a featured musician on Richard Ginsburg's Synthetic Pleasure radio show on 91.1 W-FMU, NJ. He is also an accomplished artist and sculptor, as well as an avid Halloween enthusiast.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
In past incarnations, Mike Melillo has played numerous live performances at Love Saves The Day in New Hope, PA. Best memory of this period: playing a 12 hour ambient gig on Halloween night.

Tangerine Dream, Gary Numan, Ryuichi Sakamoto, OMD, Ultravox, Peter Gabriel, Larry Fast (Synergy), Kitaro, Robert Fripp, Ministry, Ramones, Rob Zombie, Banco de Gaia, Pendulum... simple sounds that pulse with polyrhythms and syncopation, lush pads and easily digestible melodies... music that paints a background for free thinking and creative impulses.
What equipment do you use?
A Dell PC running Reason 4.0, Kinetic 2, Audacity and Magix Music Maker... controlled with an M-Audio 02 controller.
