Doctor Cano

I grew up in central New Jersey for most of his life. I discovered hip-hop rather late into my teens with my first exposure being Biggie, Jay-z and DMX. Upon listening to Eminem in the late 90's, I grew more engaged with hip-hop, eventually listening exclusively to this genre and RnB. It wasn't until a friend needed help with ProTools, that I developed a passion for music. Working with ProTools was very intuitive and enjoyable. At first, I experimented with loops in creating "beats". From there, I would go on to create rudimentary songs from these "beats". I would later become more serious with this craft after purchasing ProTools 8 from that same friend. I haven't had any formal training with music, instead I fills in all gaps with research when problems arise. Slowly over time my content has matured and developed into near-commercial quality production. Currently, I works with a few local artists who focus on Hip-hop, however I've worked with a few singer's as well. Feel free to reach out to me whenever you'd like as I enjoys interacting with fans and peers alike.
Your musical influences
My main influences regarding my overall music - that is when I create songs and perform - are Kanye and Drake among others. I recently discovered Mac Miller (R.I.P.) and thoroughly enjoy his most recent work, "Swimming".
What equipment do you use?
For starters, I built my PC from scratch, which was a great experience. I'm currently using FL Studio 12 as my DAW. Monitors are Yamaha and my interface is an Apollo Pro Duo. As for my mic, I use an Aston Spirit. I have an Akai MPK261 as well.
