Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Performing in front of live audiences are mostly special memories because the excitement of finding that one perfect song for the moment. If I can say one special memory would be getting invited by Mrs. N. Papas to perform with elementary students from Scherkenbach Elementary.
Your musical influences
We must recognize James Brown as one of the greatest MC's of all time. His ability to rock a session and conduct in a musical fashion has yet to be duplicated. My Dad and his cousin played with him so they brought the knowledge home to me. Then as time grew, Dj like Grandmaster Flash, Jam Master Jay, Joe Cooley, Hi-C, Magic Mike, Jazzy Jeff, Icy Hott, Screw and Daryl Scott had influence on how to adjust to the music and just feel the room.
What equipment do you use?
I like to use Serato Dj by Pioneer. I can also use a Numark at times. When I make the videos I use Adobe Premiere or Logic Pro X.
Anything else?
You have to be unselfish and always think about that one person in the audience that you may see but cannot find that song they truly want to hear blasting in their ear. That is always a satisfying moment for a true Dj.
