Dion Gallagher
I write guitar-based instrumentals. As primarily a metal guitarist I try to focus on riffs and melodies as well as soloing. I incorporate more metal elements to my music than the typical rock guitarist (e.g fast drums, double-kickers) and darker sounds. I play some softer stuff sometimes too - just different styles I like.
I also play bass and keyboards (just starting) and would like to write more complex music with more layers and parts in future.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I've been playing guitar since my teens, mainly on my own, but also in a couple of bands.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Not really. I do have a band project as well however, and we hope to do some local shows soon.
Your musical influences
George Lynch, Steve Vai, Randy Rhoads, Joe Satriani, Yngwie Malmsteen, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Ozzy, Slayer, Morbid Angel, Dissection....many more metal bands.
What equipment do you use?
ESP and Ibanez guitars, Carvin Legacy and Hughes and Kettner amps.
