Before The Sunrise - Devon Paul & L'nu Joker Before The Sunrise - Devon Paul & L'nu Joker

The sound of the "golden era" of hiphop capusaled into one being, Devon Paul started writing and recording music in 2008 at the ripe age of 14, fooling around and making songs with Rick Marshall in their hometown of Eskasoni First Nation, Nova Scotia. Releasing music on YouTube at the time Devon called himself "King-D" not really sure of what he was doing he kept at it writing and recording music on the old Microsoft Recorder and a old MSN microphone that came with his computer he would eventually fall inlove with hip hop and hone in and start taking it more serious as he continued to do music alone.
Eventually on his trips to the Wekomaq Reservation (Whycocomagh) where his father was from he would meet up with another local rapper named TODD (Shift From Tha 902) who at the time was known as "Ridiculous" first the two would have a little rivalry but then it turned into a friendship and then the two spent years working together and eventually started a group called Da Lunatics (could be found here on SoundClick) and release music under that name for a year or so then later on down the road they would rename the group and call it "RezFamous" and created a movement they titled "Kommon Ground Music Group". They toured around for a little while in Atlanic Canada, covering most of the east coast beside Newfoundland, they eventually went their sepeate ways and Devon went solo for a little while.
Devon also linked up with another local artist from Eskasoni First Nation, Nova Scotia, named Gearl Francis, they both linked up together to create a body of music and called it "Insanity Family" and released one album titled "Reflection of Insecurities". They did shows all over Nova Scotia and New Brunswick and later linked up with iLL Fundz (Brandon Arnold) and merged the group in with a few other artists and later became known as City Natives, they did one show with Devon and disputes with a few other members arised because he was only 18 and not old enough to tour around and do shows inside bars and other places that permitted to be 19+ to Devon left the group and went solo once again.
Later on down the road Devon met L'nu Joker (Tommy Ryan Johnson) and would start doing collabs over the course of a year than would eventaully join the hip hop group "K.U.$.H" and recieve multiple music nominations and tour Canada doing shows with Brother Ali, Murs, Classified, Cryptic Wisdom, Young Noble and many more... releasing 2 albums "Smoke Signals" and "K.I.D.S" and sitting down with Universal Music Group and attending Canada Music Week in Toronto, Ontario and also NXNE in the same week now they continue to make music in 2025 and are about to release new music and launch new dates for upcoming tours.
