Deal Wit It is a southern rap group from West Memphis, AR taking the music industry by storm. The group started in 2004 with rapper MareoâœYoung Yoâ Perry. Occasionally Young Yo would do tracks with his cousin Brandon âœBig Paperâ Gates, who was rapping as well with Doug âœLow Keyâ Johnson away in Jonesboro, Arkansas while attending Arkansas State University. After producing many tracks together with strong chemistry due to relation, the three combined to form the group known as Deal Wit It. The three began working on tracks in many local recording studios around town and produced their first underground album titled âœA Long Time Comingâ. Deal Wit It began to work with producers such as Headz and Tailz Productions and CKB records and completed a mixtape titled âœStill Underground.â The album âœA Long Time Comingâ sold over 20,000 copies throughout Northeast Arkansas and the Memphis, Tennessee area. Deal Wit It and their street team, comprised of family and friends, traveled to promote their music and scheduled local shows. Deal Wit It created buzz throughout the south, leaving local recording labels a lasting impression of the group with an undeniable talent. While Deal Wit It worked hard to promote their music, High Rize Recordings CEO, Corey âœThudaâ Mills noticed the groupâs talent, drive, and commitment towards sparking a career in the music industry. He admired their effort and pursued interest in the group. In 2007, Deal Wit It signed with High Rize Recordings. They eagerly began recording in the studio and produced their hit single and popular dance, âœ360â. The group along with their street team traveled around the south promoting the group and teaching the âœ360â dance and performing shows creating a fan base in many states such as Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee, Mississippi, Texas, Louisiana, Florida and Georgia. During the fall of 2007, Deal Wit It dropped their second mixtape âœGet Wit It or Deal Wit Itâ. It immediately sold on the streets of the south stretching from Georgia to Texas selling over 100,000 copies just within the south. The group is currently working on a new album self titled, âœDeal Wit Itâ which will be released in fall of 2009. The new album includes tracks produced by major producers such as Montana, J Dabb, Jus Bourne, Heads and Tailz, Young Juve, Swizzo, and Rocky. The group has recorded tracks in studios such as Low Key Studios in Jonesboro, Arkansas, V.I.P. Records in St. Louis, Missouri and Patchwork in Atlanta, GA.
