David Thirgood
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
More performances than I can count! Some have been completely awesome and others have left a lot to be desired. While there's been many memories and some huge gigs, I think the ones I hold closest are more intimate settings... almost where you can touch the audience and you can see the emotion on their faces. That is special.
Your musical influences
At 4, The Beatles were my first musical influence until I heard the music of Eric Clapton and Hank Marvin and the Shadows around 10. I followed a strict blues diet of every artist I could listen to until I discovered country music around 20. The country guitarists such as Vince Gill, Brent Mason, Brett Barcus, Dan Huff, Brad Paisley, John Jorgenson, Will Ray, Jerry Donahue and more just sang to me! While I have a very wide taste in music I always come back to these giants.
What equipment do you use?
Fender and G&L electric guitars, Takemine acoustic guitars. Various condensor mics and guitars are routed through a Roland Octa-Capture into Logic for recording.
