Darin VandeWater
My name is Darin VandeWater and I'm from a small town in Upstate NY, Watertown. A lifelong musician and athlete. Currently playing lacrosse at Belmont Abbey College in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I have been a musician for the majority of my life. I'm 19 years old, and I first picked up a guitar at the age of 6. From there, I learned how to play piano. About two years ago, I found a love for creating Hip Hop beats after installing my first software. It wasn't until recently where I've been driven to show my sound to the world, and since then I've been making music everyday.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yes, I play guitar in a small band that plays at local areas around my hometown.
Your musical influences
When I make my music, I am inspired by beats from artists and producers that I heard years ago and never forgot about after the first time I heard them. A sound I would say mine is comparable to is a Metro Boomin style, mixed with spacey melodies you would hear in a Juice Wrld or Kid Cudi track.
What equipment do you use?
My main software is Ableton live 10. From there I record my live guitar loops with my Gibson Es-335 ran through an audio interface. I do the same with my electric piano and PreSonus Atom beat pad.
