I will remix anything and everything... as long as it's good... I started with 'Cunla' by Planxty (available to download here!) and loved it so much that I couldn't stop remixing stuff. I've also remixed a couple of tunes by my own band as well as , a wonderful group I met in Tennessee.
However, my first major project - my first finished project - and hence my first album, was "The Poitin Remixes" - the entire "Hot Days" album by totally remixed (we're talking reMIXed here - not just remastered!) complete with loops and samples...
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Been playing in playing in bands for donkey's years and then started getting into remixing.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I don't play live... yet... it's not really live music (although it could be with a lot of organisation)
Your musical influences
Musically, I've been influenced by so much it's impossible to say...
as for the remixing, I don't really listen to too much electronic music, but I get some ideas from the likes of Massive Attack, Gorillaz, Orbital, Chemical Brothers, Beck, etc...
What equipment do you use?
A computer, a keyboard and an endless supply of sounds, samples and ideas...
