DRBR

The soldiers of DRBR have been making down and dirty tracks since the late 1990's. Through a mutual family friend, the founding members of the group were introduced in the city of Houston, TX. Who knew that that meeting would lay the foundation for the musical powerhouse, Dirty Rocks Burn Rich. The 'Dirty Rocks', named so for the dirty rocks that founder and CEO, 13, hauled daily, was born and the doors to the studio/record store opened in 2001. The Dirty Rocks studio became a centerpiece of the East Texas sound and between 2001 and 2003 several artist came through the doors, and thousands of songs (literally) were recorded. With the addition of Pee-Tee, Brixx Challione and Big Ed the Dirty Rocks '9-Oh-Derty-Third' sound was born. Tragically, in the summer of 2003, the Dirty Rocks studio in Marshall, TX was burned to the ground in a suspicious and unsolved fire. All equipment and recordings were lost. Dirty Rocks remained closed for 18 months before reopening, bigger and better, in late 2006. The clique was even more determined than ever to spread the '9-Oh-Derty-Third' sound and, in their resilience, they decided if they were going to burn - they would BURN RICH. The DIAMOND was chosen as a symbol of strength, wealth and for the fact that diamonds also begin their lives as dirty rocks before they are cleaned and cut to show their true value. Thus by early 2007 a new studio was completed with updated equipment, additional recording space, a retail shop, four new talented artists: Izz Fizz, SLG, T-Town, 903 Soldier (Little Man) and a new company name - Dirty Rocks Burn Rich. Currently, the DRBR is experiencing independent success selling over 20,000 CDs and mix tapes at local shows and at the DRBR record store. Recently, the group has again expanded their brand to include the 'Too Hard to Swallow', 'Blue Diamond Collection' as well as 'The Invisible Set' mix tapes; still remaining true to the '9-Oh-Derty-Third' sound. DRBR has expanded beyond their Marshall, Texas home and have performed live shows in Houston, Dallas, Louisiana and Oklahoma. The 9-Oh-Derty-Third sound can currently be heard on 103.7 The Beat in Shreveport, 106.9 The Blaze in Tyler, 99.7 KMJJ in Shreveport, 97.9 The Beat in Dallas, TX, V103.5 in Texarkana and at all of the hottest clubs in the East Texas region. The solid foundation of talent, merchandising and branding has earned DRBR a solid reputation in the East Texas music scene. This success has earned them the reputation of being the 'Motown of Marshall'.
