Cristin Tomeci

Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Cristin Tomeci is a Belgian-Flemish composer, singer-songwriter, and performer whose musical journey spans over five decades, from the Carpathians of Transylvania to the heart of Brussels. His unique sound blends rock roots, poetic lyricism, and deep autobiographical storytelling. Cristins passion for music began in the 1970s, when he became the first young artist in his hometown to own an electric guitar and form a rock band thanks to a chance encounter with an American patron who recognized his talent. As the founder of the iconic 1980s Romanian band ROGVAIV, he won national awards and had his music broadcast on state radio. By 1986, he was certified as a professional artist. After the fall of communism, Cristin expanded his musical reach across Europe, eventually settling in Belgium. He studied Music Industry & Business in the Netherlands and became International Director of The Global Battle of the Bands (GBOB) helping launch international careers for young acts across Romania, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Malaysia. He is also the creator and host of Music of Europe, a cultural music program broadcast from Brussels since 2010. In recent years, Cristin returned to songwriting with renewed energy, recording original songs in his home studio and exploring modern arrangements rooted in personal and social themes. Now approaching 65, Cristin Tomeci is writing, composing, and producing fresh music sharing his extraordinary life experiences through melodic storytelling that crosses genres, borders, and generations.
