Cowen has performed for audiences throughout the western United States 2002-2016 as Front Man/2nd Guitar and writer for The High Lonesome Band.
They have performed in venues such as The Ramada Express Laughlin, NV, The Pioneer Hotel and Gambling Hall Laughlin, The Flamingo, Laughlin, The Aquarius, Virgin River Hotel & Casino Mesquite NV. The High Lonesome Band won 1st place at the 2006 Colorado Belle Classic Rock Battle of the Bands and to this day holds the record for placing a perfect score.
The High Lonesome Bands first CD Train of Blues has gained international acclaim receiving radio play across Europe and welcomed with open arms. The name "Cowen Russell" is a tribute to both of my grandfather's Ed Cowen and Earl Russell. I love you both!

I love to perform "live" and being on stage. You never know what's gonna happen.
The High Lonesome band was at a casino in Laughlin and our drummer "Geno" fell off the back of the stage, a cymbal hits me in the back of the head. I look back a Geno and he never missed a beat hitting the kick with his hand and trying to get his stool back on Stage we all just kept playing and everyone in the place was having a blast. Only a Great drummer could have pulled that stunt off. Great times!
