I like soundscapes, loops and atmospheres. My passion has always been aimed at coupling music with visual works and one such project landed me in the Cannes Film Festival. I love working with vocal samples and sound textures to create aural 3D paintings. My mixes are rough masters that require professional mastering (not my thing).
Before a traffic accident at age 11 that left me in a coma for 6 days with severe and life-threatening intracranial hematoma, I had never touched a keyboard. After it, when visiting my grandparents, I went directly to their old organ and played one of Iceland's best known songs - melody and chords - in a single shot. This has remained with me ever since; I hear a track coming from somewhere and often feel as if I am the vehicle through which certain types of music is channeled. Three times I have tried to quit music but it simply refuses to let me.
I did a few gigs with bands during my time at Berklee College of Music but quickly found that my interest didn't lie in that direction - my place is behind the scenes. This became a problem when my only officially released album hit top 20 in various Eastern European countries and I was asked if I did concerts. I decided not to as I had no idea how to act on stage when computers ran the music. Bounce around like an ape looking for grapes? I think not.
Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Jean Michel Jarre, Simple Minds, Todmobile, Eric Serra, John Barry, Philip Glass, Johannes Brahms, Mono, Radiohead, Shaggy and Alpha Blondy . . . and that does not even come close to filling the list.

Pressed for time? I was invited to the Cannes Film Festival by creating a backup score for a 90-minute film in 7 days on a 3-day notice. The initial 'composer' managed to get his materials in before the deadline but I got to experience Nice and Cannes. I work fast but I don't master - and prefer external mixing to add fresh elements to the final results.
