Tyrone Williamson a.k.a. Chocolate Ty was born and raised in Sacramento, California. As a child Ty had initially wanted to follow in the footsteps of his big cousin, Corliss Williamson, one of the few NBA players to win national championships at three different levels, AAU, the NCAA, and the NBA with the Detroit Pistons. Although basketball remains one of Ty’s passions, his career goals had shifted after being introduced to a computer based, music production software, Reason 1.0, at the age of 15. Ty began crafting his OWN sound to the platinum beats of top producers such as: Timbaland, Dr. Dre, and The Neptunes. In 2000 at a record store signing, Ty met Pharrell Williams & Chad Hugo from The Neptunes, and after hearing some of his early productions, they had told him to keep up the good work and never stop producing. After 10 years of hard work, and a confidence boost that solidified his decision to pursue music production as a career, Ty had sold his first beats to his brother in-law Sacramento veteran rapper Young Dre D for his 1st. mixtape "Streets is Talkin"
