Wilfre Carrasquillo
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
After graduating from Berklee College of Music with a degree in Professional Music, Wilfre and his band Bodega Sonica moved to Madrid, Spain to promote their self-produced album, “Radio Libre America”. After several months of touring the band relocated to San Juan, Puerto Rico to begin the production of their third album “Las Estrellas Se Estrellan”. Since his arrival to the island Wilfre has worked with several artist as a Producer/ Engineer/Musician, names like Celestina Robot, Julito Alvarado, Haciendo Punto en Otro Son, Tego Calderon, Harold Hopkins (Puya), Alejandra Guzman, Julieta Venegas. Also he has composed, produced and engineer numerous soundtracks for the growing Puerto Rican film industry, movies like Amnesia (2006), Tres (2006). In addition to his career as a performer Wilfre has directed and edited music videos, documentaries and visual compositions for live performances; he has worked with artist like Bodega Sonica, Luis Fonsi and Nelson Vazquez Valderrama. Wilfre is Co-founder and project manager of Cumulos Multimedia Agency, based out of Old San Juan that specializes in cutting edge graphic design, web design, and professional music Live Vj-ing, and Digital Audio Productions. He is currently working on the new Celestina Robot album, scheduled to come out in ’06.
