The Music Desk is not really a band, nor is it locked into one style of music. The Music Desk is one man looking to write and produce all types of music for people from all walks of life. I, the owner amd operator of TMD, am heavily grounded in various musical styles including Hip Hop, R&B, Reggae, Go-Go, Gospel, Jazz, Rock, and Orchestral just to name some. To sum it up, there's something for everyone. I can create sometimes a different song each and every day, but I seldom have the time to put it on paper or burn it to CD.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I perform occasionally with the "Andrew Theilen Big Band" based out of Myrtle Beach S.C. on the weekends. Other than that, I play at my church and in the studio.
Your musical influences
I listen to all music. I didn't use to play all music though. Jazz was the only thing I thought was too hard for me. However, during my senior year in high school, I was made to learn this piano solo that was recorded my a jazz piano legend. His name was Thelonious Monk. By hearing his music, I realized that I could hear things in his piano playing that most people couldn't figure out. Having "perfect pitch" is truly a gift. Thank you GOD, and thank you Mr. Monk for inspiring me to not only play jazz, but to write jazz as well.
