Bill Sperl
I have been a musician all of my life. I started learning guitar and then I moved on to drums, trumpet and trombone. I studied music all through elementary and junior high school. Once I got to high school I started playing the piano much more seriously. I went to Molloy college for music and graduated with a BA in Music performance. My high point there was being able to perform at Carnegie Hall. It was a thrill. In 1985 I studied audio engineering at a small technical school and eventually went on to teach for them for about 23 years. The whole time continuing my engineering and producing. I played on many of the records I was producing for other artists and I was fortunate to work with many great artists. I have since left that small technical school to take on the much more important responsibilities . I also have my own studio where I am running several Macs and PCs. I am using Pro Tools, Logic and Reason for my recordings. I also have a full array of sound modules that I have collected over the years. My keyboard collection is very extensive as well, including three tritons, some vintage rolands and yamahas as well. I am currently pursuing a side career in music composing for film, TV and video soundtrack placement.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I haven't played out in some time. I am primarily looking to place my music in film, tv or video game soundtracks.
