BJBeats is an independent producer from Russia working in such genres as boombap, trap, lofi, chill. Instrumental hip-hop as a basis, and then everything happens by itself. Practices working without a computer, using samplers, synthesizers, old analog devices, tapes, cassettes and other rare equipment. In addition to working as a producer for other artists, BJBeats has been releasing solo releases as an artist. Basically it's dirty lo-fi made from a unique vintage apparatus and energy from the author.
One of the founders of KMR BND - an independent creative association that brings together musicians, artists, videographers and simply talented people, and also tries to develop hip-hop and creativity among young minds, helping everyone who comes to us with advice and deed.
Band/artist history
As a producer, I deliberately began my work in 2007, although since 2004 I have already tried in this area, but I did not put the necessary efforts and waited for the right time. After years of training and working with independent artists as young as me, they gave me the experience and the desire to develop further. By 2011, I relatively understood my sound and all my attention was focused on digging records, sampling and cutting material. This went on for many years. I started collaborating with different artists from all over the world, always learning and doing something new. Various rare devices began to fall into my hands, on the basis of which I began to develop a separate line of lo-fi sound. All this was done without the use of a computer, only for digital recording, so that people could hear it. At this point, we began to develop our small independent creative association KMR BND and have been creating together for many years.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I started out as a rap artist and I am very familiar with communication with the audience and the audience. I was a member of an underground band and we participated in all kinds of parties and concerts. It's a good experience, but I wouldn't want to do it again, at least not at the same level. Among other things, over the past years I have been sounding concerts and I know this whole cuisine from all possible sides.
Your musical influences
There are too many of my inspirers and I would even be ashamed to forget any of them, mentioning them now. If we take the general layers, then this is hip hop culture in general, not only music, but all its other elements. This is funk and soul music of the 60-70s and reggae motives.
What equipment do you use?
for many years in a row I have been using several different lines of the device, hardware and software. The most basic setup is:
Adobe audition
Synapse Orion
NI Battery
Izotope
Waves
Boss SP505
Akai MPX16
Technics Tape Recorder
Handmade FX modules
Dynacord powermate
Lexicon Alpha

If were to use this for a video meme how would I go about attributing the work?
