AXIS-X Band was formed in January 2008. Bob Mann (drums) and Bill Gifford (lead guitar) first started jamming in 2004 in a kitchen after meeting on an Internet musicians site. Both have many years of band experience. Bill has been working on some collaboration material with some excellent musicians across the country. Bob has worked with stage managers for many national acts. The guys later hooked up with a lead singer in 2005, then a second guitarist and bassist to form the popular local Christian band Captain Alexander that was nationally recognized in CCM Magazine. The group eventually disbanded due to family obligations. ................................................................................................................................................. After a period of soul searching, Bill and Bob kept things alive by teaming up with Matt Basso who is currently lead singer. Matt also has a solo act (Town Crier), which he performs at various times. He played bass guitar for the trio as well as belting out the lyrics. The band produced its first two hits Hook, Line, Sinker and Preacher Man. The name AXIS-X was born. Not long after that, Steve Balas came along and took over as bassist. Matt moved to rhythm guitar. Steve has played with many bands over the years and brings a lot of experience to the group. AXIS-X Band has played at fairs, festivals, cafés, youth events, and Christian clubs. The music is rock but the message is ministry. Wholesome lyrics reach people of all ages. Each member of the band is grounded in his faith in the Lord. The bands purpose is to share that with others as they provide awesome entertainment and music. .................................................................................................................................................
