Austin Lewis
While I have played in a band most of my performing life, I am still writing songs as a solo artist and plan on continuing. I was the lead singer for the band Perfect Crime in both of it's incarnations beginning in NY in 1986. When I moved to NJ in 1989, I began writing with guitarist Jeff Parsons and began a new lineup of Perfect Crime. We played throughout NY and NJ through the better part of the 90's with weekly gigs at the legendary Stone Pony and other Jersey shore clubs.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Formed in 1989, Perfect Crime was pioneered by Lew Hastings and Jeff Parsons. As the bands principle songwriters, Lew and Jeff wrote songs reflective of their musical influences which included classic rock, blues, and heavy metal to alternative and melodic ballads. Performing regularly in NY, NJ, and Pennsylvania, this foursome recorded and performed originals which can be heard on this soundclick site.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Currently not playing live. I loved playing live, particularly for a crowd of our regulars.
