In 2010, I was reintroduced to classical or orchestral music after being parted from it for two years. I performed in a symphonic band in middle school from Sixth to Eighth grade. My sophomore year of high school was to some degree, a renaissance on my part. Music from movie and game soundtracks, as well as music from movie-trailer groups like Two Steps from Hell spurred me to find some way to make music like they do or at least try. In early September, a friend introduced FruityLoops and East West to me which I quickly fell in love with, unfortunately my lack of understanding in music made every attempt at such masterpieces sound like something a toddler might devise. They were...terrible to say the least. For a time I gave up. It wasn't until late 2011, a year later that I would try again. This time, however I succeeded in writing a song called Epitaph, inspired by a nightmare I had and later a poem that I wrote to connect them together. Over the next few months I would compose one other song which would not be completed for some time, and two songs I finished during the summer of 2012 known as Separated and Shenandoah, both inspired by depressing events, one involving myself and the other from the past. In October later that year I finished the song I began earlier that year known as Into the Breach, and from what I have been told it was my best. But more is to come, of this I am certain.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I suppose I summed it up best in the first section really. I started out fascinated by a computer program called Fruity Loops, and the imagination sprung from there to the point where I made my last song, Moving Target using East West Quantum Leap. It has been quite a ride these last 3 years.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I wish it were only possible. My music is recorded via a Midi DAW using East West Quantum Leap and Fruityloops Studio 10.
Your musical influences
Oh well that's easy. Two Steps from Hell is where I got the idea to start making music like this. I merely wanted to follow in their footsteps...no pun intended.
What equipment do you use?
East West Quantum Leap: Hollywood Strings, Symphonic Orchestra and Fruity Loops 10.
Anything else?
I am just getting started I think, and the support from my family to pursue this dream is making it all the better. I can't wait to see where I am in 10 years. I hope it is only going to get better.
