WOW!! So many. I'll just shoot them off as I think of them: Wu Tang Clan, Nas, John coltrane, Miles Davis, Santana, Mongo Santamaria, Poncho Sanchez, Billie Holiday, P Funk, Victor Wooten, Dr. Dre, Prince, etc, etc, etc.

What equipment do you use?

Very minimal. Two computers, a keyboard controller, sometimes a bass guitar. Software and soundfonts.
