Alison Maseko is an independent artist, curator, and storyteller rooted in authenticity. His journey into music began with a deep love for sound collecting, listening, and learning long before ever pressing play in front of a crowd. Self-taught and self-driven, Alison built his path outside of industry norms, guided by instinct, feeling, and a passion for connection. His music is a reflection of real-life moments honest, unfiltered, and grounded in emotion. With no need to chase trends, Alison creates for those who listen deeply. Whether through a curated mix, a single track, or a live set, his work invites listeners to feel something real. From humble beginnings to hitting milestones like 50K streams on Apple Music, Alison remains rooted in gratitude and purpose. Each release is more than just music its a piece of his story. Welcome to the sound of Do You Be You.
Band/artist history
I started as a music lover, collecting sounds that moved me. Over time, I found my voice as a selector and storyteller. I built my path step by step self-taught, independent, and led by feeling. Now Im here, still growing, still grateful.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yes, Ive performed live nothing beats the energy of a real crowd. One special memory was seeing people connect deeply to a track I made. No words, just that shared moment. It reminded me why I do this.
Your musical influences
Im influenced by real emotion and honest expression whether it comes from music, life, or people around me. I draw inspiration from everyday experiences, timeless sounds, and artists who create with purpose, not just for hype.
What equipment do you use?
I keep it simple and focused. I use a laptop, studio monitors, and a controller when needed. Its not about having the most gear its about knowing how to feel your way through the sound.
Anything else?
I make music to connect, not to impress. Every track is a piece of where Ive been or where Im headed. And Im grateful to everyone who listens, shares, or simply feels something from it. This is bigger than me
