Band/artist history
Alex Niedt (pronounced "neet") is a Kansas City recording artist, producer, and mix engineer whose first EP release, Dont Forget To Tip Your Bartender, is now available at iTunes and other online retailers. The EP and accompanying music video have been well-received, garnering descriptions such as "one-man-band creations that combine dreamy swirls of electronics with Niedts alternating vocal gravel and silk".
Showing eclectic taste and range, the Lex Luger-produced "Hold Me Down" and covers of Tim Buckley, The Beach Boys, and Stephen Sondheim are available for download on iTunes or Bandcamp. Currently in the works is a collaborative album with rapper Caligula, signed to producer Danja's N.A.R.S. Records. Niedt and Danja will handle production duties. "In The Night", produced by Danja, is now available for free download.
Niedt is also venturing into the TV/film world on the upcoming series Funny Days, where he will once again showcase multi-talents and versatility through music, sound design, and mixing.
In early 2012, Niedt won the MixFest Competition, hosted and judged by Grammy-winner Dave Pensado, and appeared on Pensado's Place. Shortly after, another victory came with the "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" remix contest, with proceeds going to Cyndi Lauper's True Colors charity.
dude hurry up and release some music!!
your begining to be a Mr. Plaster!!
haha!!
"It hurts me more than it hurts you" is amazing, absolutely amazing. It mustn't be scrapped, it must be finished. The music is so cerebral and vocals are extraordinary, especially the last few lines. Fantastic. I can't wait to hear more new material.
i voted hot for "it hurts me more...". very beautifull. somewhere between p gabriel and david sylvian. with your own personality. congrats. i ve added you to my bands and will discover later.
have a tour at my page.... greetings
I listened to just one song "I'd Give Everything" and I like it very much. Continue making beautiful music and don't let being "solo" be in the way of trying to perform live... I know I didn't allow it to stop me. It's a wonderful feeling seeing the expressions of listeners as you perform.
More power!
