Real was born Cheyanne Campbell, a native of Los Angeles, California. When she was young, her family moved to Michigan, and then to Indianapolis, Indiana. In Indianapolis, where she attended Washington Township schools, growing up, Real participated in a community drill team. As a lead percussionist for 4 years she began writing lyrics during jam sessions and decided to hit the hip-hop music industry full force. A female lyricist, Real began devoting all her time to becoming the best female rap artist in both the underground and commercial music markets. Her style eloquently mixes traditional mid-west hip-hop, with r & b, and soul. After high school, Real was accepted to Tennessee State University (TSU) in Nashville Tennessee. Majoring in electrical engineering, Real joined Epsilon Gamma Iota Engineering Fraternity Inc. Using her extensive leadership skills she was able to apply institutional knowledge to the underground street music hustle. She has performed at many venues in Indianapolis, Nashville, Philly, etc. including: Zambezi’s, Fat’s, TSU’s hip-hop showcase, Joe’s Grill and Claude n Annie’s Bar &Grill; not only on a regular basis but with welcoming fan bases upon each return. She currently travels the country with her sister “Moya Angela” (singer) who is a cast member of Disney’s “The Lion King.” Though not a group, together the dynamic duo is hitting the music industry full force with some of the best music of the day.
