Scot-Free’s passion for music began at an early age in a small town in Louisiana. While he spent his early years entertaining friends and family with his mixture of soulful, southern slang, with a hint of New York style street rap he did not become a serious rapper until 2004 when he entered and won a freestyle competition. Since that performance, Scot-Free’s drive has made him unstoppable. Although hip-hop is his specialty, Scot-Free is a skilled artist and not afraid to display his talents in all genres including: country, rhythm and blues, and rock. Scot-Free has continued to build his skills and talents by going head to head with local rappers and by making guest appearances with local artists on various projects. He’s also had the opportunity to work with many producers including one in the UK. This has contributed to his growing popularity and notoriety in other parts of the world.
In 2005 Scot-Free wrote, recorded, and released his self-titled album. He is currently promoting his company, Yllcats Entertainment, working on new material, and looking to sign a major label deal. He most recently won the February Artist of the Month contest on Musicpowers.com. You may find him promoting his albums across the country or in a club downtown passing out CD’s. His goal is to put his music into the hands and hearts of as many people as possible. He is hoping to change the face of Southern Rappers, showing the world there’s more to the south than just rims and grills.
