About Reese
Born and raised at the bottom of the map in Gulfport, MS, a place where talent is rarely discovered, Maurice Smith has set forth to pursue his passion for music. Although Hurricane Katrina was an obstacle for the 22-year-old rapper, songwriter, and producer, he believes that "the sun always shines on the person who puts forth effort in life."
Reese, who is also a singer, dancer, and the leader of the Flyboyz, a Gulfport-based rap trio, performed in many talent shows and school productions before deciding to rap. His musical influences include Kanye West, T.I., Jay-Z, and Pharrell. Reese uses his music not to promote overt sexuality or materialism, but to spread a sense of reality without ominous overtones.
Reese has been through many uphill battles and faced with many confrontations. His style is uncomparable mixing love with life struggle with blessing, pain with happiness.
