54 yr old stay at home mildly disabled mom with my 2 youngest children aged 13and15. MY older 2 boys are 32 and 29, and between them have 5 grandchildren. I was given a cockatiel in 2006 when she was 3 who I absolutely adore. and is very loving. I am always on the lookout for another bird, Either another teil,parakeet,lorakeet or a small parrot.My bird adores Newton and Billy,and although she doesn't speak,she does sing along. It was the best thing we ever could have done for her. I have done tons of reading on birds and visit our local parrot sanctuary to chat with their birds who have all been given to the sanctuary to live out their natural lives.I am prepared to make the long commitment to the care andwell being of the birds,,as are my children and grandchildren..They will always be a part of our home now.They've won me over .
Great news!!!! I got a baby parrotlet this summer '07, and not a month later, was called on to adopt 2 cockatils and a budgie from Parrot Island, so now I have a houseful of 5 birds...love them all.
