One definition of "shop" is an atelier, or a workshop or studio of an artist. The archaic spelling of "Shoppe" symbolizes old-fashioned use of the word. The spelling of "Muzik" symbolizes they are different from the rest. JUBE and SCREWBALL first met in 1999. BIG JUBE, (Greg Jubert) had just graduated from Bloomingdale High School in Brandon FL, and SCREWBALL (Scott Hardesty) was in his senior year. Both had a passion for entertaining and threw parties almost everyday. SCREWBALL was an aspiring DJ, specializing, at the time, in Florida Breakbeats. JUBE was a very talented lyricist (and saxaphone player) with endless notebooks of poetry based on true life experiences. Both had a deep understanding of musical theory and when the duo first figured out that Jube's vocals complimented Screwball's beats, MUZIK SHOPPE was born. T-SKYZ (Tony Williams), a close friend of JUBE joined MUZIK SHOPPE in 2001. A freestyle and tongue-twisting legend, T-SKYZ jumped on the opportunity to write and record songs with MUZIK SHOPPE, and the duo was now a trio. Later the trio met an interesting character in downtown St. Pete. GIFTDACURSE (Sal Wallace) was also a local rapper and lyricist. GIFTDACURSE used to work with other producers in the area, but he wanted a group that was dedicated and willing to put in the work and effort to make it big. GIFTDACURSE brought a new style to the group. His new ides, catchy lyrics and skill with rhyme schemes and metaphors was the missing link that MUZIK SHOPPE needed. In 2009 the trio became a a quartet. GIFTDACURSE recorded "MY HEART IS YOURS," his debut mixtape.
