1/4 of the hip hop group Street Cartel, MidNite has been making beats for 15 years and been rapping for 9 years. Inspired by his brother Kay Tee, he followed in his footsteps to become a hip hop artist. influenced by the music of the 80's, he adopted a soulful sound and it has only grown with the help of today's producers like 9th Wonder, Madlib, MF Doom and the late great J Dilla. In 2002-2004, Street Cartel made an EP called, Untouchables. 2005 they went back in the studio and created the "Street Cartel" mixtape. Though satisfied with both releases, Street Cartel felt they needed to become a more well rounded group and would like they're music to reflect that. In mid 2010 they got back together, after spending time away, and are grearing to release solo albums along with a group album. On 9/10/2009, MidNite started a series of sample instrumental mixtapes called GoodNite music. With 12/1/2009 marking the date of his last installment, Street Cartel presents.....GoodNite music vol. 5ive, Midnite is setting to put out his biggest release to date, Vol. 6ix. It will be released 1st half of 2011.
