As the words of Jay Z’s song would suggest, “Everyday a star is born”. June 5th of 1985 at St John’s Hospital in Queens, NY, Khalif-Ameen Richardson was birthed into the world. The youngest of 8, 5 brothers and 2 sisters, Khalif immediately learned the value of family. He matured quickly by being smart enough to learn from the mistakes of his siblings. Due to the hard streets of Queens, NY, his family then moved to Old Bridge, New Jersey in search of a better living environment. During this time two of his older brothers (A.K. & Kado) and one of his cousins (Mott) started a rap group in which they called themselves “Gunja Assasinz.” Khalif immediately began honing his skills upon listening to G.A.’s 1st demo cassette tape, taking on the name Life (originally pronounced, leaf-e) at the early age of 8 years old. After several years in New Jersey, Life’s parents shift gears by moving to the Pocono’s of Pennsylvania. It was now just he and his sister remaining to conquer this new ground being the only two siblings left to finish school. Not letting go of his dream Life formed his own G.A. group adding Crew onto the name to distinguish the difference. The group G.A.C. began doing shows as early as middle school which continued throughout high school, forming an unbreakable bond and a chemistry that could not be taught. During this time many freestyles and songs were recorded by the group, from tape recorders to karaoke machines to Donny B’s in house studio. Life’s charm and charisma shined on early tracks as he coolly fed us smooth lyrics with a laid back delivery. Locally G.A.C. was recognized as some of the best to pick up a microphone. However, upon graduation real life began and days of cutting school and freestyling everyday were over. In February 2004, during a 2 week vacation to Orlando, FL, Life, now known as LifeMessiah, decided that a change in scenery was exactly what he needed. He made the decision not to return home and began running with the U.G'z (Underground Guerillaz), hitting the South Florida mixtape circuits with his lyrical and witty up north flow, bringing a new vibe to the local area. At the end of that same year, Calico (House OF Repz CEO), died in an automobile accident. Shortly after, LifeMessiah moved to Port St Lucie, FL. to reconnect with Sng P. of G.A.C. and umbrella under House OF Repz ENT. in honor of Calico. Within a few years Life & Hart dropped several mixtapes including North vs. South in 06, which was the 1st mixtape including all members of G.A.C. since high school. Life & Hart began performing their hit songs all over South Florida, from Orlando down to West Palm Beach. LifeMessiah also dabbled in modeling as well as rapping during B.E.T.'s “Rip The Runway” and for local fashion designer events in Port St. Lucie and Jensen Beach. August 15, 2008, Kado (LifeMessiah’s older brother) was also killed in an automobile accident. Kado was not only Life’s brother, but his right hand that keep him focused, encouraged and motivated. March 24, 2009, Ky’anni-Khalise (LifeMessiah’s daughter) was born. She is now the one who keeps Messiah focused, encouraged and motivated. With already hundreds of songs recorded and two solo mixtapes under his belt, LifeMessiah is ready to “take his talents to South Beach.” Currently in school studying broadcast journalism, LifeMessiah realizes the time is now or never. Talent and drive have never been the problem when speaking of LifeMessiah’s career, but timing and tragedy has been. Now working on his retail album for worldwide distribution, LifeMessiah finds himself right where he wants to be. He is currently in the prime of his life and ready to take the world by storm and all it has to offer. “Everyday a star is born”.
