Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Kristal Moon knew she wanted to be a writer at a young age. She began writing poems and short stories in elementary school and wrote her first song at the age of 12. A strong Alto, Kristal was often asked to help vocally arrange songs in school and told she should try singing professionally. Now at the age of 30, this single mother of three has decided to cast her fears aside and go after her dreams of starting her music career, focusing on songwriting. Kristal and her sister, Adriene started their own publishing company, Kensonkeri Publishing, LLC and have a catalog full of songs. One song, “Shine”, an uplifting overture of positivity, caught the attention of the director for the Little Miss African American Pageant in L.A. and there is interest in it serving as the competition’s theme song in the near future. This crazysexycool young woman embodies confidence; she is assertive, charismatic, versatile, sassy, and has a bold personality that gets poured into each and every song she writes. “I can pretty much write to any type of music and the words just flow naturally; my talent is definitely God-given”, Kristal states. Her writing style varies in range from R&B and Hip Hop to Rock/Pop to Gospel to Contemporary Christian.
