Jonathan Padilla, better known as Dj PriMo, was born and raised outside of Philadelphia PA in a small city called Lancaster. As a kid born from Puerto Rican decent, PriMo listened to and was influenced by Salsa, Merengue, Freestyle, Reggae, Hip Hop and later various forms of electronic music. Being Inspired by his uncle Dj Slice of Afro Rican (Give it All You Got), he decided to start his own adventure with music at the age of eleven. After relocating to Miami in 1997, PriMo was introduced to the South Florida electronic music scene. The fresh Miami breakbeat sound caught his attention immediately, reminding him of his uncle Dj Slice. Being inspired once again, he continued his adventure with music by acquiring his first set of turntables at the age of 18. Since then PriMo has played at many venues throughout South Florida. Starting to lose enthusiasm for the Hip Hop music that was coming out after the 90’s, he decided to get into music production to keep Hip Hop alive. He put his studio (Puerto Roc Studios) and record label together (Puerto Roc Records) and released his first project May 01, 2006 entitled “Hip Hop is Dead” featuring his artist E Grizzly. Later that year the EP was nominated for “Album of the Year” at the LA Music Awards and won “Rap Artist of the Year”. Dj PriMo currently has his own radio show called Mi Yayo radio on 89.1Fm Miami/www.thestreetsfm.com while he is working on E. Grizzly’s 2nd project “The Revolution Will Be Televised".
