Background Bio: I lived in a small town in the Mississippi Delta (Pascagoula), till I was seven. There, I developed my love of blues and jazz. I would sometimes sneak out of the house to go listen to the music being played inside the “juke joint” up the street. I occasionally got caught, but for a brief moment I felt like I was part of the band. I moved to Arkansas with a new love for music. The juke joint was replaced with a church, which my parents attended quite often. Taking advantage of my situation, I studied the drum player and the attention he received, while becoming his assistant. At the age of ten, I could outplay others twice my age. My mother was the choir director, my personal vocal trainer, and my tutor (no good grades no music). In Junior High, I joined the marching band and mastered reading music. There I learned how to read and write music on composition paper. In band I learned how to play Tuba, Trombone, and the Baritone (Euphonium). I made 1st Band Symphonic every year, which is the highest honor in which you are chosen to play at a concert for professional musicians. I started writing lyrics in high school. At first, I would write to get something off my chest, but eventually began battling lyrically with others in my school. After I developed a name for myself, I collaborated with two other battle rappers and formed a group called the Natural State Boys. We won several local talent shows and performed anywhere we could.
