huh. i'm... a computer geek and wirehead.
eardrums are like those little plastic pieces that are fitted to your refrigerator door. you don't notice how useful they are until they break, and then you get bent over a table (no lube) if it's even POSSIBLE to replace them.
eventually, i want to have a audio/neuro interface line into my corpus callosum. so i don't blow out my eardrums. on the rare occasions i make a joke being able to hear the response is useful.
