Pop star Mikey Shyne arrived on the scene in early 2015, sending shock waves throughout the entire music industry. A native of Queens, NY, Mikey grew up singing with church choirs and local theater groups. He is the oldest son of Michael and Donna Brandt.
Mikey's solo career journey began in 2013 after singing a solo for a documentary being filmed by The Village People's Eric Anzalone. Anzalone is credited with lighting the motivational charge needed for Mikey to understand that despite his ongoing struggles with addiction he had a bright future ahead of him.
What started as a dream quickly become a reality when in February of 2015 he released his first professionally produced song "Set Me Free." Soon after people all over the world and throughout the industry began noticing Mikey Shyne! Industry pioneer and legend Kurtis Blow introduced Mikey at his first live show, which he won, and was soon featured on Thisis50.com and JackThriller.com. That same week Mikey was also introduced to his mentor, Grammy nominee and legendary German producer, DJ Tomekk. "Put It Down" is Mikey's debut single and features Tomekk on the track.
Mikey continued to perform live shows, as things began to flow and a huge local buzz was generated. On April 26th he found himself opening for two big names, styles P and FredThaGodson. The show was a major success and lead FredThaGodson to expressing his interest in a collaboration, which is expected to be released in the fall of 2015.
