Biography:
La Setty (real name: Luis Colon), a musician, born February 22, 1991 in Boston, Massachusetts. The first passion of his life began at age 14: music. It began during lunch throughout his last year in middle school. Each day he would join a large group of his classmates to freestyle, engaging in 30 “battles” for personal glory. It was here, in the midst of these battles, that music began to play a continuously larger role in La setty's life. In these 30 second bursts of creativity he found himself happier than at any previous point in his life; finally, he had found his inspiration. As he continued to immerse himself into music, he learned more and more about who he was as a person, and who he wanted to become. Living in a particularly unforgiving part of Boston socioeconomically, it was hard to find a passion that will keep oneself from drowning in the whirlpool of drugs and violence that engulfs one’s peers; music provided him not only with the ability to stay away from such dangers, but also with key skills that will aid him professionally, personally, and academically in the future.
He was influenced from watching inspiring movies such as 8 mile & Get rich Or Die Trying and that is what encouraged him to believe that anything is possible in life. From there on, his music career began. As far as his music career proceeds, he is still in the process on completing a mixtape called Nothing but the Truth to gain recognition from the streets of Boston. Unlike other artists, La Setty is not worried too much on how he is going to break the “underground” barrier; he definitely has tracks to put his name on the map. He is just waiting for the “perfect time” to make an entrance intto the Hip-Hop world
