Five years ago, I had a little quantum leap from classical piano and singing musical theater to writing my own stuff about my own dreams, wanting to break out from my proper Chinese-American background. Running between hippie-wanna-be-life and Zen Buddhism, I tried to reject the materialistic culture of the U.S. and decided to convert to Torah Judaism and say my truth through music. Thank Gd, I've had so many examples of courage, exploration and healing truth from other women artists.
