Originally from Massachusetts The LeSage family, seven of us moved to California in 1955. I was 12. My dad took the southern rout pulling a small trailer with his 50 Chevy. I lost my first guitar in Texas when it fell out of the trailer. I was inspired to play and sing by a friend from Birmingham Alabama. He was in the navy. He show me my first grips on a guitar so I had something to sing with. I was eight years then. I grew through my teen years in the bay area. In seventh grade I told my teacher that I liked to playe guitar and sing. One day she told the class if we got our school work done by three, Geno would play his guitar for the last half hour of class. That was a time when Be Bop was turning into Rock and Roll. Walking across the play ground with a guitar in my hand a lot of classmates knowing I was somewhat shy would shout Elvis, "Do you know how to play this or that, Don't Be Cruel?" I had no trouble getting through at least the first verse of any song they requested. I made a lot of friends. My teacher had me playing songs like, Don't Sit Under The Apple Tree, The Autum Leaves, she was sweet. At 33 years I felt if Jesus could die for me at that age, I could at least start living for him. My wife's name is Linda. I think she has to be at least 99 percent angel. My song to her has always been, "You are my special Angel". Thank you for your interest. =Gene sr.=
