9bar

dj 9bar, scratching...scratching.... and more scratching! Am a dj not a producer, i leave that to the pro's
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
First got into the dance music scene in about 1996 as a kid, got my first set of decks about a year later.. started learning to scratch in about 1997. Left school to work in a record shop buying and selling music over the counter with a respected crew in my local area.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Have played and participated in various promotional projects, including some of the main venues in and around London city, such as.. KoKo (Camden Palace), Canvas (Bagleys Film Studios), SE1 (The Drome), 3 Aces, Pleasure Rooms, Gracelands (Castle Studios), The Sanctury.. ect Some of the events included.. FUTURE DANCE, Rave Nation, Dreamscape, Moondance, Ruckus and a few other smaller parties. As for special moments.. was all about rave nation when i was 17 man.. just some short kid behind the decks.. giving it large with the scratch vinyl.. wicked vibes.
Your musical influences
Definatly.. dj hype and craze, kaos, kevin energy, blind, pitch.. way too many to mention.. respect to you all!!
What equipment do you use?
All about the vinyl if you ask me, yup.. 2 technics, a decent mixer and vinyl is what id use.. aint feeling cds .. you might aswell let a computer do it for you.. (only fair enough if you cant afford to cut dubplates.. otherwise vinyl all the way baby!)
Anything else?
LOVE listening to new artists, its really cool to hear peoples sound, and talents from fresh, keep up the GREAT work...respect to you. Bang into the oldskool of the scene, and tend to listen to a more laid back liquid side now. Leave the mc'ing for the raves... otherwise you end up breaking car chairs when you try and dance at the traffic lights..!!!
