Four Story Theory: Four Ideas, One Goal
When several volatile ingredients are combined, the result is explosive. That's what you can expect with 4 Story Theory. This band sets a new standard for quality music and original, song writing technique. As consumers these guys understand what it means to buy a CD that has 2 good songs and 8 disappointments. As musicians, that is not an option. This band expects the best from themselves, and delivers it with style. The easy way out is unacceptable. Hailing from Salt Lake City, these guys have been providing quality music together for several years.
Brian Dahl is the vocalist and lyricist for Four Story Theory. His vocal talents have been compared to almost every talented singer, rock has provided over the years. His influences range from Burton Cummings and Don Henley, to Rik Emmett and Geddy Lee. "If the music is great and the singer sucks, I don't want to hear it." His lyrics flow between the edges of Pop Rock and the heart of Progressive Rock. "Almost everything I write has a positive spin. I won't have a sticker on my CD that says my kid can't listen to it."
George Williams is the guitarist and center of 4ST's musical style. Born in Alaska and raised in Utah, this musical giant has earned the title of musician. He has a style that can only be compared to the true innovators of the business. His rock influences range from the simplicity of Angus Young, to the smooth precision work of Alex Lifeson and Eric Johnson. His catchy song writing ability and fun personality will entertain an audience of any age. Tell George what time cartoons start at your house, and you better have some space available on your couch.
The bassist that provides the bands groove and unique low-end sound, is Kevin Davis. Originally from California by way of some strange science fiction land, Kevin is very abstract in his thinking and his bass playing. To influence Kevin as a bass player, you truly have to be of the bass masters of the universe. Kevin has the elements to become very influential, himself. Brian points out, "When we're writing a song, he either starts in Chris Squire mode, or he sneaks it in after the song is written."
Born in Southern California, Marc Finley started abusing his first drum set at the age of eleven. He hasn't stopped swinging his sticks, since. His years of playing have lead to his unmatched consistency and impeccable timing. "Growing up in my neighborhood, if you weren't in a garage band, you didn't exist. I was very lucky to be surrounded by talent at such an early age". Marc's intense desire to perform makes him the driving force of 4ST. Whether you come to watch the show or dance to the groove, he guarantees you won't be sitting still.
If you want a band that sounds like someone else, this band is probably not it. If you want something that you can tap your foot to, and sing with in your car, here it is. Talent, Charisma, Performance and Versatility. Don't expect the best, demand it. Put it in. Turn it up!!
