Hometown punk-rockers Lee Mckinney and Mark Pavlovcik had been friends since 5th grade. They shared two traits: they both had the same taste in music, and they both played instruments. Lee played guitar and mark played bass. Many songs and band lineups went by before the final lineup was formed in 2002, with friend and incredibly talented drummer Joey Nevills. Under the name Anti-prep, they wrote many of their own songs, mostly about girls and life as a teenager in school; some about Godzilla, some about Harry Potter, and some about being heard. It was obvious they had a lot on their minds. One more band name came and left before they decided on the name 3rd Charm. 3rd Charm came about as it was the bands third name, and this time the third time was a charm. They put their heads together in the studio and in April of 2003 they released their first full-length CD, titled Lost And Found Our Way. Early influences of Blink-182 and Greenday, led into more recent influences of AFI, Finch, Story of The Year, Fall Out Boy, and Taking Back Sunday. Their energetic shows make them something you don't want to miss.

Have you performed in front of an audience?
We play live as much as possible. We play all over Illinois really. It is the most incredible thing ever, it is also by far the best feeling in the world. Special moments happen every show and we never forget those moments. When people are singing our songs it makes us feel so special. It just shows that the people actually care.
Your musical influences
I know personally I am even influenced by symphonies... They are incredible! Other than that, punk, rock and roll, metal, emo, screamo, everything is an influence.
What equipment do you use?
Vocals - Shure microphones.
Guitar - GIBSON SG, Ibanez, Fender, and Alvarez guitars with Peavy amp.
Bass - Fender precision bass with Fender amp.
Drums - Pearl percussion.
Anything else?
