Band/artist history
In the Summer of 04, anyone who had known 3 Dates Later could have told you that the band was dead. Chris, Spoo, Travis, and Seth werent going to do anything with themselves, even though their dream had always been to play music. In August of the same yearall of that changed.
3DL was short a drummer after Seth, the original one, had taken off to live a life where the band was not headed in the beginning of July. 3DL had almost lost hope, but kept the dream alive by writing drummer-less songs anyway, until one day, Chris ran into a kid named T.J. at his job. After hearing that he was a drummer, and that he was fairly decent, 3DL invited him to jam. While the music wasnt perfect when they first got together, the 3 original members noticed something about T.J. that stood out to them. As the group grew closer, and more songs emerged, the 3 knew that T.J. was the man for the job. 3 Dates Later, 2 months after T.J. joined, went into the studio to record their 9-song demo: These Are The Best Years Of Our Lives. Now, the band has begun a-new. With 9 completely new songs, a couple years of history/experience, and a new beginning; 3 Dates Later plans to make those dreams come true.
Since the annexation of T.J., 3 Dates Later has taken the opportunity to start over, completely. The old line-up had never been taken seriously, and the songs were never quite up to par with what the band wanted. Now, 3DL had the chance to begin the way they had always wanted to: Stable. While they may never be able to completely erase the past, the band has learned, and moved on. Now, its time to take it seriously.
3 Dates Later, will not label themselves as any one style of music. Since the very beginning, 3DL has always tried to vary their style and have taken the opportunity to capitalize on this with the new drummer. In any one song, you could vary well hear 3 or 4 different ones. Punk, rock, pop, ska, post-hardcore, and even influences from rap are just a few different feelings you can draw from their music.
While 3DL may be comprised of a bunch of teenagers (Chris, Spoo, Travis 18, T.J. 19), their music is far beyond anything that kids their ages should be producing. If you dont believe, just go and listen to a couple songs, and as soon as you pick up the lyrics, youll be singing along. With the amazing power to write catchy hooks and tricky one-liners, 3 Dates Later will be playing in your head until you scream bloody murder, but you still wont be able to stop singing along. Be carefulbecause once you listen, you may just want to see how they TEAR IT UP live.
