FAQ
Why would I need a license?
A license is needed if you want to use the music for anything else than just listening for your pleasure. Typical uses are
  • freestyling over a beat
  • licensing music for use in TV or for a movie
  • remixing or use audio samples
What are the license options and what are the differences between those?
We offer up to 5 license templates (Basic, Premium, Track Out, Unlimited, Exclusive) and it's up to the artist which ones he/she wants to make available. Each license comes with different perks. In general, the higher the price, the better the perks.
You can click on each feature on the left side of the comparison chart above to learn more about each one.
When will I get the track I purchased?
You can download all related files immediately after your purchase. We also email you a one-time download link for a download later.
How can I remove the audio tag from the track?
A "tagged beat" is a demonstration version of an instrumental that contains distinct audio watermarks that typically play throughout the entire track. The purpose of a producer tagging his/her instrumental is to prevent piracy and to encourage serious recording artists to purchase a license.
To get a tag-free audio please make sure you purchase a license which features "untagged audio".
I purchased a $1 download, why is the beat still tagged?
Beats purchased for $1 in our store are meant for streaming and demo use only, just like downloads from iTunes store or Amazon music.
To license a beat without audio tag and to use in a professional manner please buy a license from this page. Usually those are $25 and up.
What is a stem / trackout file?
A Stem file is an audio file that contains a track split into several musical elements: A drums stem, a bassline stem, a harmony stem, and a lead stem for example.
The Stem file also usually includes the original stereo master of the track for standard playback.
Why would I need a stem / trackout file?
A trackout file gives you much better control. Imagine you rap over a beat and you realize the percussions take the focus away from your vocals. With a trackout file you can simply tone down the percussion and the focus is now on the vocals. With a trackout file you have much more flexibility and a whole different level of control.
I am a music producer who has been making music since the age of 5. I formerly worked as part of a production team for Onset Music LLC at Onset Studios in Gretna Louisiana. There I worked in person with artists such as B.G. from Chopper City Records, formerly with Cash Money Records, as well as Baby Boy Da Prince, who is known for his hit record "The Way I Live" in 2007. I also worked on countless other projects with other well known artists as well as amateur and aspiring artists from around the New Orleans area.
Band/artist history
I wouldn't really say I have exactly gotten anywhere yet, but I will say that over the last decade and a half I have learned enough about the music industry to understand what it takes, to get somewhere.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I have performed in front of a live audience once before, and it was pretty cool to see people vibing to something I created, but performing live is not something I ever really wanted to do. I like more of the behind the scenes stuff, and collaborating with other artists and musicians.
Your musical influences
My biggest influence was hands down my big brother. He taught me at the age of five how to create music by staying in a key. It was the key of D minor, which is my favorite key to create in. He was the most talented musician I've ever known. He played keys, guitar, drums, harmonica, and probably would have given Eminem a run for his money in a rap battle. May he rest in peace. Onset also had a huge influence on me. He kind of taught me the game, the business side of things. From working under him I learned a lot about the technical side of things and a lot about just how music works in general. One of the biggest lessons I learned from Onset is that if a song is a hit, it's hit because it's a hit. Not because of the mix, the way it was recorded, the type of equipment that was used, just because it's a hit. A hit song has a feeling to it that can't be created by equipment or mixes. Other notable influences would be Timbaland, Dr. Dre, and Kanye West.
What equipment do you use?
Currently I use Logic Pro X with a few virtual instruments, my two favorites being Sectrasonics Omnisphere, and Arturia Analog Factory. My current hardware includes a Yamaha Motif 6, Korg Triton Studio 61 key, and a Roland Groovebox MC-307. In the past I've worked with MPC's, Roland Fantoms, Korg M3, Korg MS-20 synthesizer, and some other various synthesizers.
Anything else?
The most rewarding part of making music to me is seeing what artists are able to create with my music. No two artists think alike, and I look forward to artists hopefully sharing with me some of their creations with my music in the future.
