Band/artist history
2 Minute Warning began back in 2000 in Galax, Virginia, with 14 year old bassist/lead vocalist Darren Shepherd, 16 year old lead guitarist Jason Higgins, 18 year old rhythm guitarist/backing vocalist (and brother to Jason) Joey Higgins, and 16 year old drummer/backing vocalist Austin Hauslohner. The young band had a good list of cover songs down after a few practices, but when it came time to write their own stuff, there was some conflict between the Higgins' brothers and the other two members. After considering the situation, Austin and Darren decided to kick the Higgins brothers out and find someone else to play for them. Darren decided to switch to guitar and they then called on bassist Danny Delp for assistance. As an original 3 piece, 2 Minute Warning astonished the Southwest Virginia music scene with their loose mixture of punk rock, heavy metal, and emo pop---in which they like to call "Schitzo-rock". They later added guitarist Brian Alley, but he left the band after only a few months due to personal reasons. Now a 3 piece once again, the band decided to record their first professional CD, titled "Every Second Counts...", with studio whiz Chuck Crush. Local audiences responded well to the release, as well as audiences in West Virginia, North Carolina, and as far away as Colorado. A few months after the release of "Every Second Counts...", the band became a four piece yet again when they added rhythm guitarist Nathan Roberts and additional drummer Greg Shepherd to the line up. 2 Minute Warning continues their legacy of spreading their emotional and heart felt music to the masses and will continue doing so no matter what...

Everything from Metallica, Pantera, Slipknot, Nickelback, Snot, and Slayer to Green Day, NOFX, Rancid, and Box Car Racer to Finch, Staind, and Brand New...the list goes on. We're also MAJORLY influenced by the local rock community...bands such as Blacklist, Red Letter Day, Far-less, and Swift."
What equipment do you use?
"We play Ibanez guitars and basses, Gibson/Epiphone guitars, Fender basses, Peavey amplification, Mesa Ampilification, Marshall Amplification, Behringer amplification, Digitech effect processors, Jim Dunlop Picks, Ernie Ball Strings, Whirlwind cables, Nady Mics and Wireless, Shure Mics, Pearl Drums and hardware, Zildjian cymbals and sticks, and Evans drum heads."
Anything else?
"As artists, we hope that people get something out of what we're doing. We hope that people can relate to what we want to say, because we write about stuff that everyone has either felt or went through in there lives. Life is tough, and we hope that we can make it a little bit more enjoyable."
