24X
24X is a project by Liam O'Connor. With it I seek to create some original and emotionally honest music. Im trying to make something I can be proud of.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
For the moment its just myself but there are several musicians who will enevitably in the future add to my creations. For now Im happy alone. I created this in mid Summer 2004. I was tired of being in the background in bands and fighting for some kind of "spotlight" so I decided to create this side project where I could be alone to create. So far I have recorded the 3 Track demo "3 Days" and the more recent EP "Insomnia Falling". A third project looms ahead but I wont give away too much about it yet.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Sometimes but not with 24x. Its more of a recording project than a live band.
Your musical influences
Katatonia. A Perfect Circle. Porcupine Tree. Night. Rain. Calm scenes where I can think. Progressive metal. Guitars.
What equipment do you use?
Gibson special model guitar, epiphone stratocaster, Tanglewood Warrior3 bass, PXR4 digital 4-track, v-amp effects unit, seinheisser mic, computer with Cool Edit and fruity loops which which what Im currently doing most of my recording on, and so on...
