Christian Country

"228 South" is a father daughter duo that have been singing and playing together for several years. They tend to play a more traditional country sound, with mostly all acoustic instruments.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
We also play as part of a larger bluegrass gospel group called 'Southern Psalms' and have played in front of live audiences there. But as a father/daughter team, we have never ventured out.
Your musical influences
The bluegrass and country stars of the 60-70s are no doubt our biggest influence. Groups like the Country Gentlemen, Seldom Scene, and Bill Monroe and the Bluegrass Boys. Today, the groups that still have that traditional sound, like 'Nothing Fancy' are also groups we enjoy.
What equipment do you use?
Our instruments include a Martin D18 and Washburn D21 guitars, a Tacoma M-3 Mandolin and a Samick SH-21 Autoharp. We record using Sonar Home Studio 6 in a bedroom converted into a little studio.
